CME was organized and conducted by faculty of Department of OBG, S.S.I.M.S.& R.C., On 28th June 2008 Theme – Was “Safe Motherhood And Current Concepts In OBG Practice”
Speakers were from VIMS, Bellary. J. J. M. M. C. Davangere, S.S.I.M.S.& R.C., Davangere, and members, delegates were teaching faculty of Department of OBG, Bellary, Davangere, and OB & G practitioners from Davangere, Chitraduga, Haveri Malebnuur Ranebenuur Jaglur Chennagiri.
“Preventive Gynaec. Obcology” and Colposcopy Workshop.
Dr. Prema Prabhudev, Professor & HOD was Organising Chairperson, Dr. Sudha. T.R., Prof. was Organising Secretary and dept. Faculty’s were Coordinators for scientific programme and workshop. Guest speaker Dr. Umadevi, Gynaec. Onco Surgeon from Kidwai institute of Oncology, Bangalore, spoke on “Rationale of colposcopy in early detection of cancer cervix.”
Dr. Umadevi conducted colposcopy workshop with live demonstration of colposcopic examination findings, both normal and abnormal which was performed on 15 patients admitted to SSIMS hospital. On one patient who was diagnosed to have CIN-1 “Leetz” operation was performed. Interactive session between guest speaker and delegate participants was held quiz programme was held for P.G. students.
Obstetric Emergency” and Workshop on “Obstetric drills
Dr. Prema Prabhudev, Prof. and HOD was organizing Chairperson and Dr. Sarvamangala. B., Professor was Organising Secretary.
Guest speakers were Dr. Bellad.M.B., Prof., Dr. Metgud, Prof. , Dr, Anita Dalal, Prof., and Dr. Geetha Durdi, Asst. Professor of OBG who had come from JNMC, Belguam.
Topics are discussed on “Outlook of PPH in modern obstetrics “ & “What’s to know in pre-eclampsia” by Dr. Bellad, “Antihypertensives and other durgus in preec lampsia” by Dr. Geetha, “Comprehensive approach to eclampsia’ by Dr. Metgud and “Obstetric management in eclampsia” by Dr. Anita Dalal. Interns and final year UG students from SSIMS & RC., PHC Medical officers, private consultant from Davnagere and also from outside attended CME and workshop.
There was interactive sessions and discussion between guest speakers, senior faculty dept. of OBG, JJMMC and Participents both during scientific session and workshop.
CME on Abnormal Labour
CME on Abnormal Labour was organized and conducted by Dept. of OBG, JJMMC, SSIMS & RC., and Davangere OBG society in collaboration with RGUHS, Bangalore on 22nd Saturday, February 2014 at Library Auditorium, JJMMC, Davangere
Dr. Prema Prabhudev, Prof. & HOD gave guest lecture on ‘Abnormal Labour’ due to Abnormal uterine action.
Dr. Gayatri L Patil, Professor was Chair person for guest lecture on ‘Foetal distress Pathophysiology management’ by Dr. Ajit Patil from Kolhapur.
Dr. Viaykumar. M.M. Asso. Professor was one of the panel member for panel discussion on ‘A to Z of partogram.
Dr. Rashmi Raju, Asso. Prof. and Dr. Arif, Asst. Prof. was co-ordinators for the afternoon session ‘Problems of 3rd stage of labour’ by Dr. Ambarish Bandiwad, from Mysore and ‘Foetal distress’ by Dr. Ajit Pail.
Dr. Shridevi. A.S., Asso. Prof., Dr. Anitha. K, Asst. Prof., Dr. C. Kalyani, Asst. Prof. were coordinators and other faculty actively participated.

CME on 2nd FEBRUARY 2019
Faculty from department. of OBG SSIMS&RC, Davangere. JJMMC and Davangere OBG Society organized One day live and Interactive Operative Workshop and CME on “Gynecological Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy “on 2nd February 2019 at S.S. Auditorium, Hospital block. Dr. Prema Prabhudev Prof & HOD, Dept. of OBG, SSIMS&RC, and Dr. H. V. Ravi Gowda Prof & HOD, dept of OBG JJMMC. were the Organising Chairmans Dr. Sapna. I.S. Professor dept. of OBG, SSIMS&RC was the organizing secretary. Dr. Bandamma Narandra. S President. Davangere OBG Society and Dr. Madhu. K. N Secretary, Davangere OBG Society were the Co-ordinations.
This ENDOVISION workshop and CME included- Live and Interactive Operative Workshop by various renowned surgeons – Dr. Vasanth Kumar, Bengaluru. Dr. Rajesh Eswarappa, Chikkamagaluru. Dr. Biju Pillai, Kerala. Dr. Madhuri Vidyashankar, Bengaluru. Dr. Madhu K. N, Davangere. In this workshop various Laparoscopic surgeries were performed namely ‘Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy’, ‘Laparoscopic Myomectomy’, ‘Laparoscopic Endometriotic Cystectomy ‘and ‘Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy’, after this session, CME was conducted by Dr. Biju Pillai, Dr. Madhuri Vidyashankar and Dr. Madhu K. N on the topics -‘How to start Laparoscopy practice?’, ‘Laparoscopic management of complications in ART’, ‘Laparoscopic management of ectopic pregnancy’ respectively. This was followed by valedictory function.
It was a great experience for all. The Delegates participated were the staff and postgraduates from SSIMS&RC, JJMMC, and OBG society members from Davangere, Haveri, Ranebennur, Chitradurga and Harihara .All had gathered together in the beautiful campus of SSIMS&RC and madeitawonderfulday

CME on Science of Energy
An interesting CME conducted on topic ‘Science of Energy at LT-4 by Davanagere OBG society and department of OBG, SSIMS & RC and JJMMC on December 13th 2019, Friday.
Mr. Harish Deshmukh, Zonal accountant Manager, is a certified tissue specialist in Jhonson & Jhonson Company for 9 years. Conducted an interactive and elaborate CME on sources of energy in surgical fields, types, merits and demerits its effect on living tissue when used for cutting and coagulation purpose. He also focussed about the minor ailments which we tend to neglect and which makes major impact in surgery. It was a very useful session of all faculty and postgraduates form JJMMC and SSIMS&RC, and Interns and Nursing staffs.
CME on ‘AUB and Physics and methodology of CTG’
A CME was held on December 21st 2019 at JJMMC on topics ‘Abnormal uterine bleeding and workshop on CTG (Cardiotocography) by Davangere OBG society. Inauguration was done by Dr. Murugesh (Principal JJMMC), Dr. Shobana Patted, Dr. Bellad, Dr. Vidya Thobbi, Dr. Prema Prabhudev, Dr. Ravi Gowda, Dr. Shobha Dhananjay.
There was a panel discussion held on topic ‘Abnormal uterine bleeding’ by Dr. Vidya Thobbi (foods, drugs and medicosurgical equipement committee FOGSI) and Dr. Sugana with panel members consisting of Dr. Shukla S Shetty, Dr. Asha Mallapur, Dr. Shobha Dhananajay, Dr. Rashmi P.S., Dr. Kamlesh Chawla and Dr. Anuradha. It was an interesting discussion on classification on AUB, pathophysiology, treatment options and case scenario discussion. A workshop was conducted on physics and methodology of CTG by Dr. Prakash Mehtha, Chief Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine, HOD, dept. of OBG, Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Bengaluru and team. CTG interpretation was made easy as it was a very informative and interactive session for postgraduates.
