Anaesthesia is one of the most important clinical specialties with innovations and advancements being carried out since 1950.Anaesthesia is an emerging specialty subject and has spread its wings outside the operation theatre into the intensive care units and pain management.

This 34th annual Karnataka state conference on Anaesthesiology and Critical Care is an exclusive platform for sharing the knowledge and information. As a part of the Annual State Conference by the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists, a pre-conference workshop was held at S S Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre in Davangere on 9th August, 2018. The campus is located amidst lawns, avenue trees, flower gardens, etc which give an aesthetic touch to the entire panorama and serene atmosphere.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Hon.Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa, Hon. Secretary, B.E.A, Davangere.

There were four workshops being held, through which attendees picked up the chance to learn and get advancements about the most recent information in

  • Conducting future researches through the research methodology workshop,
  • Using the ultrasonography in various nerve blocks through the ultrasound guided nerve blocks workshop,
  • Hands-on experience with various advanced equipments to tackle difficulties while anaesthetizing the patients through the difficult airway workshop,
  • Knowing the background and advances in ventilators to treat the critically-ill patients through the mechanical ventilation workshop.
  • The workshop was conducted by some of the very senior and most renowned faculties from some of the reputed institutions of India. Around 200 delegates had attended the workshop and were immensely benefitted from the knowledge that they gained during the workshop.
  • Following workshop, the CME was held on 10th of August 2018.
