07.02.09: On account of Taralubalu Hunnime Mahotsava, a blood donation camp was conducted at Sri. Parvatamma Shamanur Shivashankarappa Kalyanamantapa. Dr. C. M. Mallikarjuna Swamy, Blood Bank Officer participated in the camp along with Indian Red Cross Society.
12.02.09: On the occasion of World Cancer Day, a free cancer detection camp was conducted at Bashanagar PHC, along with Dept of Community Medicine, organized by Keerti Mahila Samaj. Women were screened for cancer cervix and breast carcinoma. Dr. P. Shashikala and Dr. Gayathri Patil delivered a lecture on early recognition, symptoms and prevention of cancers in women. Dr. L.S.Patil, onco-surgeon, Dr.Deepti Pruthvi, , Dr.Varadaraj Rao, Dr.Yuvaraj, Dr. Muralidhar Kulkarni, Dr. Kubernaik attended the camp.
28.02.09: On the occasion of N.S.S (National Service Scheme) camp held at Narashettyhalli, Channagiri (Tq) a blood group testing and health awareness camp was organized for the students and villagers. Dr. C.M. Mallikarjuna Swamy, Blood bank officer, participated in the camp.
23.03.09: As a part of Continuing dental education programme, CODS organized a guest lecture by Dr. Prakash V.Patil on “Approach to cytology” . Dr. P. Shashikala, Dr. G.U.Kavita, Dr. C.M. Mallikarjun Swamy, Dr. B.N. Sandhya Lakshmi & Dr. A. Manjula attended the same.
10.04.09: A workshop on “Quality control in clinical laboratories was attended by Dr. Basavaraj P. Bommanahalli in RGUHS, Bangalore. The workshop was jointly organized by RGUHS & Padmashree diagnostics.
16.04.09: A voluntary blood donation camp was held at SSIMS&RC blood bank by Sri. S.S.Mallikarjuna fans association to motivate people to vote for Sri. S.S.Mallikarjuna and for the victory of young congress leaders Sri. S.S.Mallikarjuna and Sri. Krishna Bairegowda.
16.04.09: Students of ICSC division Anubhava Mantapa visited the dept of Pathology. They were taught about basics of Medical Science and importance of Pathology.
19.04.09: Dr. Shashikala P delivered a lecture on ‘Basics of good health, & disease prevention at ‘Rotary club’ for Chetana Summer Camp children.
21.04.09: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized by Nutan B’Ed College on the occasion of 73rd birthday celebration of Sri.Muddegowdra Veerabhadrappa, President of Nutan Education Society, Davangere. Students of B’Ed college donated blood. The camp was conducted by S.S.Blood Bank in association with Indian Red Cross, Davangere branch. Dr. P. Shashikala and Dr. C.M. Mallikarjun Swamy participated in the camp.
23.04.09: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized by congress workers at Nituvalli. SSIMS&RC blood bank conducted the camp jointly with Red Cross Society. Sri S.S.Mallikarjuna fans donated the blood and prayed for his victory in the Lokasabha elections.
25.04.09 : Dr. Basavaraj P.Bommanahalli delivered a speech on Blood and Blood group systems creating awareness on voluntary blood donation at Rotary club for Chetana Summer camp children.
04.05.09: Students attending Chetana Summer Camp of Rotaract visited the Dept of Pathology, Museum.
12.05.09: CME Program for MBBS students: under the banner of ‘Fort city final diagnosis’, Basaveshwara Medical college, Chitradurga started guest lectures for undergraduates from expert teachers. Dr.Shashikala.P delivered the first lecture “ABC of pathology”.
29.05.09: Clinico-pathological conference was conducted between Dept of Pathology and Dept of Surgery. The case of swelling over left arm with hand muscle wasting was discussed by Dr. Basavaraj P.Bommanahalli & Dr. Abhinandan & moderated by Dr. Shashikala P.
10.06.09 to 12.06.09: TOT for Pharmacy teachers was organized by BMCDT & RGUHS at Bangalore Medical College. Dr. Shashikala P, Co-ordinator, DOME was one of the Resource Persons & spoke on teaching learning methods /Media.
15.06.09 & 16.06.09: A workshop on Immunohistochemistry was attended by Dr. Manjula.A workshop was organized by Dept of Pathology, St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore.
23.06.09 & 24.06.09: Dr. Deepti Pruthvi and other faculty from Dept of Biochemistry and Dept of Microbiology visited Gokula Metropolis Diagnostic Centre at M.S.Ramaiah Specialty Hospital.
06.05.09 to 08.05.09: Dr. Deepti Pruthvi, Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy C.M & Dr. Basavaraj P.Bommanahalli attended the TOT Workshop conducted by Dept of Medical Education , SSIMS&RC on teaching learning methodologies . Dr. Shashikala P was one of the resource persons.
20.06.09 & 21.06.09: Dr. Shashikala P participated in the India Education Fair 2009 at Kuala lumpur,Malaysia on 20-21st June 2009 along with Dr.Ashok , BDCH and Dr. Shashikala JJMMC. The fair was organized by confederation of Indian industry (CII) and edCIL (India) Ltd with the support of High commission of India. This was held in conjunction with the 17th conference of common Wealth Education Ministers. Mr. Athani Veeranna, Governing council member, BEA was the organizer. The fair was inaugurated by YB Dato’s S.K.Devamany, Deputy Minister in the Prime minister’s department.
29.06.09: Dr. Manjula A attended a workshop on digital imaging at Bangalore. The Programme was organized by Motic Digi Lab
30.06.09: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized by Rotary club in Davangere Harihar
Urban Co-operative Bank Samudaya Bhavan. S.S.Blood Bank along with Indian Red Cross Society
conducted the camp. Dr. C.M. Mallikarjun Swamy and Dr.Shashikala.P attended the same.
06.07.09 & 07.07.09: International CME in Pathology was conducted on 6th and 7th July 2009 on Autopsy Pathology and surgical pathology of Brain. Dr. Sushama Patil, Faculty, Dept of Pathology and Immunology, Division of Neuropathology, Washington University of Medicine, St. Louis was the resource person. The CME was organized jointly by Dept of Pathology, SSIMS&RC and JJMMC. Around hundred pathologists and post graduates attended the same. There was a live demonstration of brain cutting on 6th, followed by surgical pathology lectures and interactive discussion on 7th July.
11.07.09: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at MBA College premises by Lions Club and Lioness club of Davangere. District commissioner Mr. K.Amarnarayan inaugurated the camp. S.S.Blood Bank in association with Indian Red Cross Society conducted the camp. Total of 54 units of blood was collected. Lions club president Lion Mr. Dinesh Shetty and Lioness club President Smt. Lathika D.Shetty & Mr. A Veeranna, Chairman of MBA College were present. Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy C. M & Dr. Shashikala. P attended the same and created awareness on the importance of blood donation, motivated the youth to become voluntary blood donors.
12.08.09: Hematology An Update- Guest lecture by Dr. Philip Kuriakose, Hemato-oncologist , Director, Hemophilia & Thrombosis Treatment Centre, USA organized by Dept of Pathology , JJMMC. Dr. Shashikala P, Dr. Deepti Pruthvi, Dr.Mallikarjuna Swamy C.M, Basavaraj P.B, Dr. Sandhyalakshmi.B.N & Dr. Manjula A attended the same.
27.08.09: A workshop on Phlebotomy- the blood collection system by BD diagnostics was organized at Lecture theatre III and central laboratory. All the technicians and faculty from Dept of Pathology, Microbiology & Biochemistry attended the same and had hands on training of using BD vacutainer system for collection of Blood. Mr. Prabhu Seshadri, Clinical Resource Consultant pre analytical systems, BD diagnostics was the resource person.
05.09.09: 2nd State Level Pathology Quiz for MBBS students (Inter medical quiz) was conducted by the Dept of Pathology , SSIMS&RC. Thirty six teams from 18 medical colleges of Karnataka participated in the same. Team from M.S.Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore won the trophy. SSIMS&RC the host team got the second place. The quiz was organized jointly by SSIMS&RC, KCIAPM and Basaveshwara Medical College, Chitradurga.
05.09.09: Demonstration of Motic Digital microscopy solutions by “INKARP”, pioneers in professional digital microscopy was held at demonstration room no-I in the combined block, dept of Pathology. Pathology faculty from SSIMS&RC, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur and undergraduate students attended the same.
10.09.09: Karnataka Milk Federation and Shimoga milk producers societies union limited had organized a interactive programme on women’s health, balanced diet and communicable diseases under the STEP programme of central government at Kyarekatte, Harapanahalli Tq. Dr. Deepti Pruthvi spoke on women’s health and persona hygiene, Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy C.M spoke on importance of nutrition in health. Information on communicable diseases was given by Dr. Sandhyalakshmi B.N.
15.09.09: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Rotary club on the occasion of Engineers’ day by civil engineers forum. Dr. Kanteerava Balasarswathi inaugurated the camp. Dr. Basavaraj P.B and S.S.Blood Bank along with Indian Red Cross Society conducted the camp.
24.09.09: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at SJVP college, Harihar. Dean Dr.Kanteerava Balasaraswathi inaugurated the programme. Dr. Jagannath Kumar V, Dr. ShashikalaP, Dr. Basavaraj P.Bommanahalli attended the same. The camp was organized by Prof. B.B.Nandyala, Head , Dept of Biotechnology along with Lions club, Lioness club, LIFE organization. S.S.Blood Bank along with Blood Bank of C.G.Hospital participated in the camp.
As a part of integrated teaching for I MBBS students, Dr.Basavaraj P. Bommanahalli delivered a
lecture on “Concepts of Anaemia” on 25.09.09 & Dr. Chandrashekar M has delivered lecture on
Jaundice on 16.10.09.
20.10.09: Faculty members attended Oration Programme to the teaching staff of BEA, at Bapuji Auditorium, by Mr. Deepak Shinde of Almamater, Bangalore.
22.10.09 to 25.10.09: XXXVI State Level Conference & CME of KCIAPM was held at JSS Medical College, Mysore.

29.10.09: Karnataka Milk Federation & Shimoga Milk producers societies union limited hard organized interactive program on health education under the STEP Planning of Central Government of India at Halepalya, Harihar talluk.
Dr.Mallikarjuna Swamy C.M spoke on Heart disease, hypertension, cancer and diabetics mellitus.
The women of in that locality were benefited by the same.

29.12.2009: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Veerashaiva Panchamashali Jagadguru Peeta, Davangere. The camp was organized by Veerashaiva Panchamashali Samaja along with S.S.Blood Bank & Indian Red Cross Society. Dr. Shashikala P & Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy C. M participated in the camp.
01.01.2010: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Chartered Accountants Association, M.C.C.’A’ Block, Davangere. The camp was jointly organized by Chartered Accountants Association Adventure and Nature Academy & Indian Red Cross Society. A total of 86 units of blood was colleted. Mata Yoganandamayi inaugurated the camp. Dr. Shashikala P stressed about the need of the blood & proper utilization of blood in the blood bank like component preparation. She also motivated the voluntary donors. Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy C. M conducted the camp.
26.01.2010: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Sri. Mallikarjuna Kalyan Mantap, Bamboo Bazaar, Davangere. The camp was organized by Sri. Keteshwara “Meda” Yuva Vedike in association with S.S.Blood Bank & Indian Red Cross Society. A total of 53 units of blood was collected. Dr. Shashikala P & Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy C. M & Dr. M Chandrashekar participated in the camp.
03.02.2010: An awareness programme on voluntary blood donation, for NSS students for Mallikarjuna ITI College was conducted. Dr. Basavaraj P.Bommanahalli, directed a street play and enacted the same along with students, Manjunath, Manu, Lakshmi Ronada and Soumya Manangi. Dr.Shashikala P composed a motivational song, related to the importance of voluntary
blood donation.
06.02.2010: Dr. Shashikala P conducted a Histopathology slide seminar in 2nd CME in Pathology, organized by Dept of Pathology, MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital, Hoskote, Bangalore.
15.02.2010: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at H.P.S degree college, Harapanahalli. The camp was organized by Harapanahalli ‘Spoorthy’ junior chamber in association with S.S.Blood Bank and Indian Red Cross Society. Dr. Shashikala P, Dr. Manjula A participated in the camp.
16.02.2010 to 18.02.2010: Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy C.M & Dr.Manjula A attended “Advanced Training on Blood Safety for Blood Bank Medical Officers” conducted at Transfusion Medicine Centre, NIMHANS. The training was organized by Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society & Karnataka State Blood Transfusion Council.
17.02.2010: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Bapuji Polytechnic Shabanur , Davangere . Dr.Shashikala P stressed on the importance of Blood Donation. Dr. Manjula A along with Bapuji Blood Bank conducted the camp.
26.02.2010: Dr.Manjula A attended one day CME -Update on Hemolytic Anemias- Clinical and laboratory aspects held by Dept of Clinical Pathology at St. John’s Medical College & Hospital, Bangalore.
06.03.2010: Dr. Shashikala P was a guest speaker for a one day symposium on “women today –Breaking Barriers and challenging , careers” conducted by Bapuji B Schools, MBA college campus to commemorate the golden jubilee celebration of Bapuji educational Association, Smt. Kiruvadi Girijamma, Governing Council member, BEA inaugurated the programme.
