The Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery offers  quality treatment and care to more than 30,000 patients from Karnataka and the neighbouring States.

The department aims at teaching the undergraduate students and to provide quality ENT care to needy and to produce a basic medical professional. About 90 patients attend OPD and around 4-5 patients undergo operations every day.  The ENT ward with 30 beds is almost always full. The faculty of the department includes Professor and H.O.D.1 and assistant professors 4, with good teaching experience.

There is provision for clinical discussions and seminars for undergraduate students in a spacious seminar room in the department. The department regularly conducts health check up camps through various organizations

 

The faculty  is well trained  in head & neck surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric Otolaryngology, neurotology, skull-base surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery, Laryngology, allergy, audiology, speech pathology and swallowing therapy. In coordination with the Vishwaradhya Cancer Hospital, the department offers comprehensive treatment for head and neck cancers including chemo-radiation.

All the faculty members actively participate at various camps, workshops, conferences. About 11 papers have been published by the faculty in various Journals. Even though the department is in its infancy has organized state level conference in 2008.
