S S I M S&R C is a referral centre for 6 surrounding districts.We have level 3 NICU care (Surfactant therapy,
Mechanical Ventilation, preterm care, CPAP,arterial lines,emergency procedures,etc).NICU admission per year is
around 600.
In the past 6 months ,50 preterm babies(<37 weeks) were managed,among them19 babies were referred for ROP screening(<34 weeks/Birth Wt <1.75Kg).Eight of these babies showed evidence of ROP among them 4 required management(Laser therapy) referred to higher centre.
