The Department of Ophthalmology has a faculty of young, energetic , highly professional and qualified team of doctors. It is well equipped with 3 consultation rooms accommodating 2 Slit Lamp Bio-Microscopes attached by an Application Tonometer, 90D& a Gonioscopic lens, along with a slit lamp attached digital camera. The OPD has a separate specialty clinic for non-invasive ophthalmic investigations.

An operating theatre equipped with Carl Zeiss operating microscope for performing ophthalmic microsurgeries enables the faculty perform thousands of major ophthalmic surgeries every year.

The department is seeking to add the latest technologies such as phaeco-emulsification unit with an automated vitrectomy machine for advanced cataract surgery, Fd YAG Green laser and indirect laser ophthalmoscope for treating diabetic retinopathy and peripheral retinal diseases as well as for  up-gradation of pediatric ophthalmic care.
