An intriguing and exciting subject to many, Forensic Medicine is a vital branch of medicine that often uncovers the past, usually in relation to crime A highly experienced and qualified teaching faculty runs the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Department at SSIMS&RC. It is equipped with the most modern equipment to conduct practical and research work in medico-legal case studies by undergraduates. The gallery of the Department has a vast & wonderful collection of forensic photographs of various crimes and a whole range of charts, models, lethal weapons & toxicology specimens.

A highly experienced and qualified teaching faculty runs the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Department at SSIMS&RC. It is equipped with the most modern equipment to conduct practical and research work in medico-legal case studies by undergraduates.
The gallery of the Department has a vast & wonderful collection of forensic photographs of various crimes and a whole range of charts, models, lethal weapons & toxicology specimens.
A mortuary block is housed in a separate building for conduct of postmortems on medico legal cases. Students can witness postmortem procedures being carried out in the autopsy room from a gallery. It also has a cold storage facility to preserve 6 cadavers at a time.
